Annual Awards Dinner 2024
A message from Kirsty Davey, Law Society President
On Friday 12th July I had the privilege of hosting the Cornwall Law Society Annual Awards 2024 at the Truro Cathedral, as the current President.
I’ve now had some time to reflect on what a spectacular event it was with over 170 guests and an evening filled with fantastic music, provided by Soul Sensations, and Lowen String Quartet. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner provided by Kerras Catering.
We have such a vibrant legal community in Cornwall and I was blown away by the talent of those shortlisted for the 11 awards this year. A massive congratulations to all of this year’s winners including:
• Junior Lawyer of the Year – Rebecca Rowe
• Commercial / Commercial Property lawyer of the year – Tamsin Mann
• Litigation Lawyer of the Year – Julie Hatton
• Private Client Lawyer of the year – Samantha Ennor-Pengelly
• Family lawyer of the year – Sarah Atkinson
• Residential property lawyer of the year – Louise Biddington
• In-house lawyer of the year – Jo Cook
• Access to Justice – Dracaena Centre, Falmouth
• Team of the Year – Coodes Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury
• Leader of the Year – Sarah Evans
• Small firm of the Year – Penderlaw
• Large firm of the Year – Coodes
To all those who were successfully shortlisted for these awards, it is a fantastic achievement in itself and one you should be proud of.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all our generous sponsors who made this event possible and to my committee who gave up so much of their own time to make the event a success.
When I was elected as President, I committed to building on the society’s engagement with members to deliver greater and more diverse engagement. I’m pleased that this year’s annual awards dinner brought together legal professionals from across the county and provided an opportunity to connect and celebrate the talent in the region. It offered a rare moment to take stock of our achievements and will remain a true highlight of the year for me.
As we continue to deliver for our members, please feel free to contact us with any ideas, initiatives or any points you may wish the Society to support you with.
